"I started wearing glasses since I was 8 years old. Since then, my vision deteriorated until I was in my twenties. I couldn’t even see anything, not even something half a foot in front of me. My vision was bad. I heavily relied on glasses and contacts. Even with vision insurance, I would have to pay so much money for glasses with the extra thin lenses or the expensive contact lenses since most manufacturers did not make contacts with my prescription. When I was 22, I went to a LASIK consultation and they informed me that my vision was too high and that I was not eligible for LASIK. However, to check back in a couple years as technology improves. I went back about 7 years later and was told the exact same thing. About a year ago, one of my coworkers got LASIK done and she just raved about it. She gave me Dr.Silk’s contact information but I was hesitant to make my initial consultation. After being turned down twice for LASIK, I didn’t have high hopes for this time around. I finally made the appointment and traveled from Maryland to Virginia to see Dr. Silk. Based off my cornea and prescription, I was once again not eligible to LASIK. But, I would be a candidate for ICL surgery.

I went back to do some pre-op eye measurements. I got my surgery appointment with all of the necessary information and drugs ahead of time. By the time surgery rolled around, I wasn’t even nervous. I was excited to be able to finally see without any contacts or glasses. The surgery process was smooth. Dr. Silk was wonderful, calm, and professional. He would tell me what he was doing and what was going to happen next. The nurses in the operating room had amazing bed side manners and made sure that I was comfortable the whole entire time. I never felt uneasy or uncomfortable before or during the surgery. The surgery lasted about an hour and for the first time in 27 years, I was able to see the world without a lenses. As with ICL surgery, my vision was a hazy at first. But I could still see better than before my surgery. The next morning, I woke up and I could immediately see around my bedroom. It felt surreal. Dr. Silk made it happen. Thank you."

My sister did her LASIK here in January. I booked and got mine yesterday. I cannot say how satisfied I am with the whole process. Very quick and smooth scheduling. Jason helped me book and broke down the financial aspect of the procedure. He gave me so many snacks and was super kind. Kelly and Kami were inside the treatment helping the doctor. They are such sweethearts and helped relieve the anxiety I had about the procedure. Dr. Silk himself is highly professional and has amazing bedside manner. On my first visit he did extensive proper testing to ensure I’m a good candidate, it put me at ease knowing I wasn’t rushed and that he ease taking the proper steps to make sure I’m a good candidate while answering all questions. The treatment itself was no longer than 20 mins. My favourite part was that Dr. Silk was speaking to me throughout the procedure. He was repeating the words “you’re doing good” “all looks good” “we’re almost done” and I really appreciate that because I’m the type of person who needs verbal reassurance and it helped me tremendously. Aftercare was so smooth. No pain or issues at all. I’m following proper care and couldn’t be happier with my whole experience with Dr. Silk and his amazing staff! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Silks clinic for lasik!

"I don’t think I could be happier about my LASIK surgery with Dr. Silk. He is very informative and answers any questions or concerns that you have regarding your eyes and the LASIK procedure. I was very nervous about the surgery beforehand, but during the actual treatment Dr. Silk and the assistant kept me very calm and used really encouraging words, just telling me how well I was doing and exactly what steps were next. It was very hazy afterwards and there was some discomfort, but after sleeping for like 6 hours after the surgery, I woke up and had a huge smile on my face because I could see! Amazing results, I am very happy because I was very nearsighted. Make sure you take the prescribed drops and artificial tears, sometimes my eyes can get pretty dry. I am very satisfied! "Dr. Silk performed my LASIK surgery a few weeks ago and since then I have been seeing 20/20 (or better) without glasses or contacts for the first time in over 20 years. Dr. Silk was very thorough with all the initial testing, provided a detailed explanation of the procedure (from beginning to end), and provided excellent after-care ensuring to answer all my questions (I had a lot). It is easy to get nervous, after all, it is your vision, but Dr. Silk’s professionalism and confidence in the procedure put me at ease. It is also nice to know that Dr. Silk continues to care for his own patients after the LASIK procedure rather than referring them elsewhere. I was very nervous prior to the procedure, the thought of someone getting near my eye with a knife was not comfortable, but Dr. Silk went over the entire process, including what I would or would not see and feel. "I was diagnosed with cataracts that left me virtually blind this past July. I am only 26 and this was a complete shock as I had perfect vision until a few months before. Dr. Silk was able to get me in for cataract surgery by mid-September. I chose a multifocal lens which helps preserve more visual function than a traditional lens and would allow me to continue with medical school to graduate on time. He and his staff were great at accommodating my busy schedule as well as going over the various options for lens implants, costs and financing options to get me what I needed.
