Dr. Bishop received her B.S. in Biology from Albright College and was inducted into the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society. She received her second B.S. in Visual Sciences and a Doctorate in Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. There she achieved Clinical Honors in Ocular Disease, Primary Care, Low Vision & Pediatrics externships.
Dr. Bishop specializes in contact lens fittings for difficult cases, children’s optometry, and wellness eye exams. She is a co-director of the Silk Vision dry eye center. Dr. Bishop is a member of the American Optometric Society and the Virginia Optometric Society. She is a member of the Scleral Lens Educational Society and fits these specialty lenses for keratoconus patients. In the past, she mentored pre-Optometry students, organized and provided eye health screenings at a local preschool, and assisted Lion’s Club members with local school vision screenings.
She takes great pride in providing patient exams with compassion, empathy and kindness while improving overall eye health and wellness. She grew up in Southeastern Pennsylvania, but has resided in Northern Virginia for the past 20 years, where she lives with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys wake surfing, hiking, and golfing with family. Fun fact: Dr. Bishop is a published author and illustrator of two children’s books, “Lily the Lark: A Day With Lily” and “Lily the Lark: Flight School.”
